Ex-NY State Senator Cops To Obstructing Grand Jury

Law360, New York (December 6, 2010, 5:54 PM EST) -- A former New York state senator pled guilty Monday to tax evasion and obstructing a federal grand jury that was investigating him for allegedly extorting thousands of dollars in kickbacks from attorneys.

Vincent L. Leibell III, who resigned last week after nearly 30 years as a Republican state legislator, pled guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
