GAO Nixes World Airways' Air Cargo Contract Protest

Law360, New York (December 7, 2010, 6:49 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has denied World Airways Inc.'s bid protest challenging the U.S. Department of Defense's decision to award five air cargo transportation services contracts to other companies, including FedEx Corp. and UPS Inc.

The GAO disputed World Airways' assertion that the government's evaluation of proposals had been unreasonable, saying in a decision issued June 25 but posted Monday that it disagreed with the company's claim that the agency gave it an unjustly lower performance rating than it deserved.
