Supreme Court Denies Writ In Indian Royalty Case

Law360 (March 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Supreme Court on Monday declined to review a ruling that removed a district court judge from a class action lawsuit pitting Native Americans against the Department of the Interior over lost energy royalties.

In the case, which was originally filed more than 10 years ago, a class of Native Americans accused the government of mismanaging billions of dollars in oil, gas, timber, mineral and grazing proceeds from tribal lands.
