Paralyzed Woman Awarded $66M In Cybex Injury Case

Law360, New York (December 9, 2010, 3:55 PM EST) -- A New York state jury has ordered Cybex International Inc. to pay $65.9 million in damages to a woman who was paralyzed when she was crushed by a 608-pound leg extension machine manufactured by the exercise equipment maker.

The jury in the New York State Supreme Court for Erie County rendered the verdict in favor of plaintiff Natalie M. Barnhard on Tuesday following an eight-week trial, her attorneys said in a statement Wednesday.
