CSIC Sues Sanford Wittels Over Malpractice Defense

Law360, New York (December 9, 2010, 8:41 PM EST) -- An insurance unit of Alleghany Corp. has sued Sanford Wittels & Heisler LLP and a founding partner at the firm, saying it has no duty to defend or indemnify them for malpractice and breach of contract claims arising out of a race discrimination class action against the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Capitol Specialty Insurance Corp., lodged a complaint Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia — the same venue that Sanford Wittels filed the putative class action.
