GOP Bill Takes Aim At EPA Funds For GHG Regulation

Law360, New York (December 10, 2010, 5:55 PM EST) -- Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, has introduced a bill that would prevent the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from using federal funds to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, opening a third legislative front against the regulator on the issue.

Poe, joined by 25 Republican co-sponsors, unveiled the Ensuring Affordable Energy Act on Thursday. The bill seeks to deny the EPA’s use of federal funds for either a cap-and-trade program or to enforce the agency’s new rules to limit GHG emissions from large stationary sources.
