Judge Allows Examiner In Northwest Case

Law360, New York (March 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has approved a Northwest Airlines bankruptcy committee’s request for an examiner to be appointed to determine whether the airline has looked into a merger, a determination that could mean Northwest is worth more than it claims.

Judge Allan Gropper of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of New York granted the request Tuesday, and asked Northwest to aid the U.S. Trustee to name an examiner.
