Tri-Star Head Gets 30 Months For Kickback Scheme

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 12:18 PM EST) -- The president of Tri-Star Holdings Inc. has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for paying fiduciary kickbacks to what he thought was a pension fund in order to pump up the company's share price.

Anthony Mellone's sentence, handed down Tuesday by Judge James I. Cohn of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, is in line with a plea agreement he negotiated before copping to the charges.
