Madoff Son's Suicide Won't Stop Suits, Trustee Says

Law360 (December 13, 2010, 6:16 PM EST) -- The trustee overseeing the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff's investment company plans to go forward with civil suits against members of the Ponzi schemer's family, despite the elder Madoff son's suicide on Saturday.

Mark Madoff's death will not impact trustee Irving H. Picard's ongoing effort to recover around $200 million for victims of his father's fraud in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, David Sheehan of Baker Hostetler LLP, which is representing Picard, said Monday.
