Purdue, Impax Settle Oxycontin Litigation

Law360 (April 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Drug maker Purdue Pharma LP has settled its long-running patent infringement legal campaign against Impax Laboratories Inc. over the generic drug maker’s version of Purdue painkiller Oxycontin.

The agreement grants a full legal release to Impax and its exclusive distributor, Dava Pharmaceuticals Inc., in exchange for an admission that Purdue’s patents for the drug are valid, enforceable and infringed by Impax’ extended-release oxycodone products.
