Claims Trimmed In Cement Price-Fixing Actions

Law360, New York (January 3, 2011, 6:58 PM EST) -- A federal judge has pared down claims in a pair of putative price-fixing class actions against Prestige AB Management Co. LLC and three concrete companies, ruling that purchasers of Florida cement products failed to show plausible evidence of conspiracy among the defendants prior to 2008.

Judge Cecilia Altonaga of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida ruled Wednesday that all conspiracy allegations that predated Prestige President Jorge Wagner’s arrival at the company in February 2008 were too thin to survive dismissal bids....
