Alcatel-Lucent Settles SEC Bribery Case For $45M

Law360 (January 3, 2011, 8:04 PM EST) -- A federal judge has signed off on a $45 million settlement between telecommunications equipment provider Alcatel-Lucent and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission over allegations that the company engaged in bribery of government officials around the world to secure business contracts.

Judge Donald L. Graham of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida signed off on the settlement in late December, closing the civil case against the company.
