MSG To Give Guards $1.3M To Settle Overtime Suit

Law360, New York (January 4, 2011, 6:50 PM EST) -- Madison Square Garden LP, operator of the iconic New York City arena, has agreed to settle a labor class action by paying $1.3 million to more than 300 security guards who claim they were illegally denied overtime pay.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs, originally four security guards who claimed the company routinely and deliberately shorted their overtime pay, announced the settlement Monday. The settlement class will include 305 former and current MSG employees, attorneys said.
