High Court Refuses Appeal Over Pilot Pensions

Law360 (April 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court refused Monday to hear a labor union’s challenge of the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corp.'s deal to terminate its members’ United Airlines pension plans as part of the airline's bankruptcy reorganization.

In its appeal to the Supreme Court, the Air Line Pilots Association asked the court to overturn the PBGC's termination of the pilots’ pension, one of four plans UAL ended during its bankruptcy.
