Cisco Atty's Religion Remarks Win Commil A New Trial

Law360, New York (January 7, 2011, 4:26 PM EST) -- A federal judge in Texas has granted Commil USA LLC's bid for a new trial in its suit case against Cisco Systems Inc. over a wireless networking patent, ruling Cisco's counsel made improper statements about religious preferences, prejudicing the jury.

Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham IV of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Dec. 29 signed an order granting Commil's motion for a new trial and set jury selection for the new trial for April 4.
