Sodexo Hatches Egg Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (January 7, 2011, 6:18 PM EST) -- French food service giant Sodexo Inc. has accused a flock of U.S. egg trade groups and agricultural companies of conspiring to limit egg production and drive up prices, echoing complaints in a pending multidistrict litigation against the egg producers.

United Egg Producers and its co-defendants have “acted collectively to manage domestic egg supply and thereby keep egg prices artificially inflated” by limiting the number of hens per cage, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania....
