Army Mismanaged Logistics Support Contract: IG

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 3:11 PM EST) -- The U.S. Army mismanaged a $117 million support contract for contingency operations in Iraq and Afghanistan by directing the contractor to perform work outside the contract's scope and failing to address conflict of interest concerns, a new report says.

In a redacted version of the report issued Friday, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense blasted Army contracting officials for failing to provide adequate oversight of the support contract for the Army Logistics Civil Augmentation Program, known as LOGCAP.
