GAO Downs Valdez Protest Over Air Force Job

Law360 (January 12, 2011, 6:43 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has rejected Valdez International Corp.’s protest over a valuable U.S. Air Force engineering contract, saying Sabreliner Corp. is able to impartially assess the soundness of aging tanker planes despite ties to the fleet's manufacturer.

On Wednesday the GAO concluded that Sabreliner has no organizational conflicts of interest that would prevent the contractor from anatomizing two retired KC-135 tanker planes and assessing the viability of the Air Force’s fleet.
