Ex-Enron VP’s Conviction Tossed

Law360, New York (April 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Invoking the theory of “honest services,” a Houston judge has thrown out the conviction of a former Enron vice president.

Judge Lee Rosenthal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas approved the dismissal of the criminal charges against one-time Enron vice president Christopher Calger last week.

In 2005, Calger pled guilty to federal charges of improperly recognizing revenue in an Enron transaction labeled Coyote Springs 2.
