Car Makers' Case Against Vermont Moves On

Law360 (April 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has decided not to throw out a lawsuit challenging Vermont’s new environmental restrictions, despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent order allowing states to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.

The state of Vermont argued that given the High Court’s ruling in Massachusetts v. Environmental Protection Agency, which found that California had the right to police greenhouse gas emissions under the federal Clean Air Act, the judge should dismiss the case brought by a group of auto makers.
