Ex-HP CEO Fights To Keep Accuser's Letter Private

Law360, New York (January 21, 2011, 7:46 PM EST) -- Attorneys for ex-Hewlett Packard CEO Mark V. Hurd argued in a Delaware court Friday to prevent public disclosure of a letter that set in motion the events that resulted in his resignation and a flurry of litigation over the executive’s severance.

The letter, which requested the settlement of sexual harassment allegations against the executive, is “highly personal” and should not be released publicly as part of a shareholder suit to inspect HP’s records, attorneys for Hurd said at a hearing in the Delaware Court of Chancery....
