3 Indicted Over Alleged Oil Shipping Kickbacks

Law360, New York (January 24, 2011, 3:57 PM EST) -- A former LyondellBasell Industries employee and two international oil traders have been charged with operating a multimillion-dollar kickback scheme involving oil shipping contracts for one of Houston's largest refineries.

Jonathan Paul Barnes, a former LyondellBasell employee, and oil traders Clyde Meltzer and Bernard Langley were charged with conspiracy, fraud and money laundering in a 12-count indictment unsealed on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
