Salespeople Slap Ryland With FLSA Action

Law360 (January 26, 2011, 7:02 PM EST) -- Homebuilder Ryland Group Inc. has been hit with a putative collective action claiming the company failed to pay salespeople required overtime and minimum wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

In a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, office-based salespeople who sold newly constructed homes for Ryland contend the company was deliberately indifferent to those alleged breaches of the FLSA.
