Charter Sues Irell Over Alleged Mistakes In Cable Deal

Law360, New York (April 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cable operator Charter Communications has targeted law firm Irell & Manella in a $150 million malpractice suit for allegedly making a number of “critical errors” in wrapping up a 1999 cable TV acquisition.

Charter lodged its suit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Friday, accusing the Los Angeles-based firm and some of its partners of covering up mistakes in documenting the acquisition for Charter for as long as nine months in 2002 after the firm learned about them.
