Google Settles Suit Over News Content

Law360 (April 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ending more than two years of litigation in a case with potentially serious ramifications for fair use on the Internet, French news agency Agence France-Presse and Google settled their legal fight over the search engine’s right to post AFP news and photos.

In a joint statement issued Friday, the two said that the agreement allows Google to post AFP content on Google News and other services. Details of the settlement were not made public.
