Bear Stearns Workers Again Fail To Split Suit From MDL

Law360 (February 2, 2011, 2:35 PM EST) -- A federal judge has again refused to sever a class action brought by former Bear Stearns Cos. Inc. employees from other securities actions lodged against the collapsed investment giant.

In a ruling Tuesday, Judge Robert Sweet of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said the employees, led by plaintiff Gilles Bransbourg, make the same claims as those being asserted by the State of Michigan Retirement Systems — the lead plaintiff in the multidistrict litigation against Bear Stearns.
