DOD Adopts Rules To Keep Tabs On US Property

Law360, New York (February 2, 2011, 2:12 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Defense on Wednesday issued two final amendments to the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, aiming to keep better track of government-owned property used by contractors and to improve reporting of lost or damaged items.

As described in two notices published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, one rule requires contractors to tag, mark or label government property used in government contracts, while the other requires contractors to report lost or damaged government property through an online system.
