SBA Launches Women-Owned Contracting Program

Law360, New York (February 2, 2011, 4:05 PM EST) -- On Feb. 4, the U.S. Small Business Administration will begin rolling out its first-ever federal procurement preference program designed to help women-owned small businesses seize contracting opportunities.

Companies will be able to start taking steps to participate in the Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program, kicking off the full implementation process that the SBA estimates will last for several months, with the first set-aside contracts to be awarded by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2011, SBA officials said Tuesday.
