Saks Assistant Managers Sue For Overtime

Law360, New York (February 3, 2011, 1:17 PM EST) -- Assistant managers at Saks Inc. have filed a putative class action claiming that the luxe retailer routinely denies them overtime pay.

Saks has violated the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and the California Labor Code by deliberately classifying groups of managers as overtime exempt when they should qualify for overtime pay, lead plaintiffs Dawn Till and Mary Josephs said in a suit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
