Chevron Gets Partial Discovery Win In Ecuador Case

Law360, New York (February 3, 2011, 6:15 PM EST) -- Chevron Corp. has won an appellate ruling confirming it had rights to the discovery of certain documents from a $27 billion case in Ecuador over crude oil pollution in the Amazon rain forest, but saying those documents needed further review.

The plaintiffs waived privilege when they furnished the documents to an outside expert to assess damages, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ruled Thursday.
