CBS Faces Copyright Suit Over Texaco Star Tune

Law360 (February 7, 2011, 3:55 PM EST) -- Copyright holders for the "Texaco Star Theatre" theme song have sued CBS Studios Inc. and others, saying they breached a licensing deal by including the song in DVD releases of the 1980s TV hit "Family Ties."

Kling Corp. Inc. lodged a suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, accusing CBS, Paramount Home Entertainment Inc. and UBU Productions Inc. of illegally using "We Are the Men of Texaco," written by Heywood Kling and Buddy Arnold, in the DVDs.
