Disney, Warner Go After File-Sharing Site Hotfile

Law360 (February 8, 2011, 4:50 PM EST) -- Disney Enterprises Inc., Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and other media companies Tuesday accused Panamanian file-sharing website Hotfile Corp. and its director Anton Titov of infringing thousands of their copyrighted movies and TV shows.

Hotfile not only allows users to upload and download copyrighted material, its business model actively encourages users to upload new and popular copyrighted content by paying dividends based on how many other users download those files, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida....
