Antitrust Suits Over Amex Rules Placed Into MDL

Law360, New York (February 8, 2011, 7:20 PM EST) -- Four actions alleging American Express Co. placed restrictions on merchants that chilled competition in the credit card industry have been consolidated in a multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation issued the consolidation order on Monday, more than a year after it rejected a previous request to consolidate two of the actions.
