Pa. Gov. Names Career Prosecutor To AG Post

Law360, New York (February 8, 2011, 7:52 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett on Tuesday selected veteran prosecutor Linda L. Kelly to succeed him as the state’s attorney general.

If confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate, Kelly, 61, would become the second female attorney general in the state’s history and the only woman to hold the office since 1961.

Corbett, a Republican, was elected governor in November and vacated the post about halfway through his second term when he assumed office Jan. 18.
