Advantage Car Rental Manager Files OT Action

Law360, New York (February 10, 2011, 12:20 PM EST) -- A shift manager at Advantage Rent A Car has filed a nationwide collective action against the car rental company, claiming it failed to pay overtime wages.

Advantage treats airport shift managers as exempt from overtime even though they do mostly menial work, putative lead plaintiff Blanca Hernandez said in a suit filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

The company's practices violate the Fair Labor Standards Act, Hernandez claims.
