EU High Court Affirms Activision Antitrust Fine

Law360, New York (February 10, 2011, 4:39 PM EST) -- The European Union's highest court on Thursday upheld a €500,000 ($680,000) antitrust fine against Activision Blizzard Germany GmbH over its alleged role in a cartel restricting parallel exports of Nintendo products within the bloc.

The decision from the European Court of Justice affirms a lower court's ruling that the European Commission had enough evidence of Activision's alleged participation in the scheme, which led to nearly €168 million in fines against Nintento Co. Ltd. and seven of its exclusive European distributors.
