IPad Overheating Class Action Tossed

Law360, New York (February 11, 2011, 12:50 PM EST) -- A federal judge has tossed a class action that claimed Apple Inc. failed to tell consumers its iPad tablets would overheat if used outdoors for long periods.

The plaintiffs did not adequately show what Apple advertising or warranty material led them to believe the iPad worked well outside in the first place, Judge Jeremy Fogel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said in a ruling Thursday.
