Judge Upholds $52M Verdict Over Calif. Power Plant

Law360, New York (February 15, 2011, 6:07 PM EST) -- A California judge has reportedly upheld a $52.1 million jury verdict against an engineering firm accused of mismanaging the construction contract for a city-owned power plant in Victorville, Calif.

Judge Ronald Taylor of the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Riverside on Monday refused to overturn the jury verdict and grant a new trial to international engineering firm Carter and Burgess, which now operates as Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., according to local newspaper reports.
