Prosecutors Claim Deja Vu In 2nd Blagojevich Trial

Law360, New York (February 15, 2011, 7:21 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors have accused deposed and indicted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich of wasting the court’s time during his retrial on corruption charges with superfluous evidentiary motions that the same judge denied the first time around.

Blagojevich filed a motion Monday asking U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Judge James B. Zagel to play FBI wiretap recordings for the jury in which he discusses a legitimate deal to grant President Barack Obama’s vacant senate seat to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan.
