Schneiderman May Remain Wall Street's Sheriff

Law360 (March 24, 2011, 1:58 PM EDT) -- After months of trying to distance himself from the "Sheriff of Wall Street" moniker in his campaign to become New York state's new attorney general, experts say that Eric T. Schneiderman may be unable to escape the role.

Schneiderman, a former state senator, beat Republican opponent Dan Donovan in the 2010 attorney general race after promising voters a strict approach on human rights violations, Medicaid fraud, political corruption and other types of grassroots fallout from the economic crisis.
