Swatch Hits Bloomberg With IP Suit Over Analyst Call

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 1:59 PM EST) -- Swiss watchmaker Swatch Group Management Services Ltd. has accused business news service Bloomberg LP of violating its copyright by recording an earnings call with analysts and posting the transcript online.

Swatch filed the lawsuit Feb. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, saying Bloomberg was not authorized to record the call or post the transcript on the Internet. The transcript was made available to subscribers of Bloomberg's information services, the suit said.
