9th Circ. Affirms SF Transit Win In Bias Action

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 1:51 PM EST) -- The Ninth Circuit has upheld a ruling in a class action that the San Francisco transit authority's emphasis on rail over bus service in a regional transportation plan does not discriminate against minority riders.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued the ruling Wednesday, dealing a blow to plaintiffs who claimed the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's plan discriminated against minorities because, overall, minorities make up a higher percentage of bus riders than train passengers.
