Blagojevich Tries To Nix Wiretap Evidence

Law360, New York (February 22, 2011, 2:17 PM EST) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has asked a judge to bar all federal wiretap recordings from being used as evidence in his retrial on corruption charges, arguing the government prevented relevant conversations from being heard in their full context.

Citing "a pattern of inconsistent and improper minimizations," Blagojevich filed a motion Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois seeking to suppress all wiretap evidence unless the defendant is allowed to use other phone tap recordings.
