Vertis Hits Segerdahl With Pop-Up Patent Suit

Law360, New York (February 22, 2011, 2:13 PM EST) -- Recently bankrupt advertising firm Vertis Inc. has sued printing company Segerdahl Corp., accusing it of infringing a patent on a technique for manufacturing pop-up books and brochures.

Vertis accused Segerdahl of deliberately infringing its patent on a way to continuously make pop-up books in a suit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Vertis, which filed for bankruptcy in November, claims Segerdahl ignored a cease-and-desist letter it sent out Dec. 22.
