Cuomo Taps Legislator To Head NY Procurement Agency

Law360, New York (February 25, 2011, 5:20 PM EST) -- New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday nominated a state assemblywoman to head the state's Office of General Services, which oversees state contracts and procurement, manages property and facilities, and handles government operations.

Assemblywoman RoAnn Destito, D-Rome, was nominated as OGS commissioner after spending 19 years as a lawmaker in Albany, N.Y.

Cuomo, a Democrat, said Destito had the credentials to lead a state government agency that is important but often operates without recognition.
