Hertz Managers Denied Class Cert. In OT Fight

Law360, New York (February 25, 2011, 3:24 PM EST) -- A federal judge in California denied class certification Thursday to ex-Hertz Corp. managers claiming the car rental company illegally denied them overtime pay, saying the employees' roles were not similar enough to warrant class treatment.

In rejecting the class certification bid, Judge Maxine M. Chesney of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said the ex-Hertz managers lacked standing to bring the fight and that common issues would not predominate over the class.
