Sprint Denied Appeal Of Bid To Dismiss Merger Suit

Law360, New York (February 25, 2011, 6:52 PM EST) -- The federal judge who greenlighted a shareholder class action over the 2005 merger that created Sprint Nextel Corp. on Wednesday denied Sprint’s request to appeal its rejected motion to dismiss the case.

There was nothing especially controversial in the Jan. 6 ruling by U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas Judge Eric F. Melgren denying Sprint’s bid to dismiss the suit that would justify kicking the order up to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the judge said.
