Google, Microsoft Fight To Nix GeoTag Web Patent

Law360 (March 3, 2011, 12:46 PM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. and Google Inc. filed suit Tuesday in a Delaware court to invalidate an online search patent GeoTag Inc. has recently brandished against hundreds of companies that use their Web mapping services.

Google and Microsoft joined forces to undercut GeoTag’s litigation rampage, claiming that their respective Web-based mapping services do not infringe the patent holding company’s store-locator technology and that the patent is invalid, according to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
