UnitedHealth, Lawmakers Bash $24B Humana Contract

Law360, New York (March 8, 2011, 8:41 PM EST) -- UnitedHealth Group Inc. and members of Minnesota's congressional delegation cried foul Tuesday over the U.S. Department of Defense's decision to change course and award a $23.5 billion health care contract to Humana Inc.

Minnesota-based UnitedHealth filed a bid protest with the U.S. Government Accountability Office on Monday over the DOD's Feb. 25 decision to hand Kentucky-based Humana the lucrative contract to provide medical care to troops in Southern states, the company said.
