Ex-Winston Atty To Admit Role In Starr's Ponzi Scam

Law360, New York (March 8, 2011, 6:20 PM EST) -- Former Winston & Strawn LLP partner Jonathan Bristol has agreed to plead guilty to participating in his client Kenneth Ira Starr’s $30 million Ponzi scheme, prosecutors told a Manhattan federal court Monday.

In the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, prosecutors said they have reached a tentative plea agreement with Bristol, who was charged in December with laundering over $20 million in connection with Starr’s scheme.

Last week, Starr was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison, far below the 12 years...
